Thottakura Pappu


Ingredients

1 medium sized bunch of any leafy green vegetable (I have used Red spinach here)
Green gram dal - 1/2 cup (cooked)
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Red chillies - 2
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp



Preparation:

Clean the leaves, wash, cut them finely and keep aside.



Heat oil, add mustard seeds.  When it splutters, add the red chillies.  Add the finely chopped greens and fry for a few minutes and then add the cooked dal, turmeric, and salt.




Add some water to it, mix well, close it with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.  Check if the leaves are cooked and switch off.



Tastes really good with hot rice and roti.
